A Manager's Report to the CQC

A registered manager is the person in charge of one or more regulated activities. When applying for registration with the CQC, you are required to tell them which regulated activities you wish to carry out. A registered manager has a role in helping to monitor compliance with the Fundamental Standards and sharing legal responsibilities with the provider. If the manager was found to have failed to meet the required standards, then the manager could be taken to task by the CQC.

The interview process for registration is fairly rigorous. The interview may be less stringent if the Home Manager has previously been registered.

Once you are appointed as a Home Manager, you will need to register with the CQC in order to work there. The Home Manager is supported by a deputy Home Manager to keep the home running safely, and to help with ad-hoc duties as per their split of work. The deputy is not registered with the CQC but supports the Home Manager who is the registered manager.
