Mycareersfuture.sg: Job Portal for New Singaporeans

The government responded to the increase in unemployment by introducing a wide range of new jobs, including apprenticeships, and opportunities for Singaporeans to upskill. The initiative was called the SG United Jobs and the SG United Traineeships. There are different fields where there are Traineeships.

Regardless of your degree type, there are opportunities in manufacturing, healthcare, retail, and food and beverage. The aim of the traineesships was to help young local people gain real-life industry experience that they can use to get a foothold in the job market when the economy recovers. The experience will help graduates make professional connections that may lead to job offers further down the road.

The programs are designed to last for a long time. If you are further along in your career and looking to take advantage of the SG United Jobs initiative, it will allow you to look at changing your career or doing something different. Many of them will give their trainees annual leave allowance of 7 days, which is still a lot of time.

If you are not happy with your contract, you can always try and negotiate it.
